MORNING PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR

STEP INTO SAIGON UNSEEN

Step into Saigon Unseen

GET LOST IN THE HIDDEN HEMS of DISTRICT 4

Once known as a slum and a crime hotspot under the rule of the infamous gangster Nam Cam - Saigon’s very own “Godfather” - District 4 has since transformed into a safe and vibrant neighborhood. Today, it’s celebrated for its bustling streets, lively markets, and mouthwatering street food. With its rich cultural heritage and electric atmosphere, District 4 offers a raw and authentic glimpse into daily life in Saigon. It's one of my favorite districts to explore.

Join me on this morning tour as we venture beyond the surface to capture an unseen side of the city. Starting at 7:30 AM, it's perfect for those who prefer not to rise at dawn.

FAQ

  • My photography tours are aimed at everyone with a love of photography, from complete beginners to advanced photographers willing to discover an amazing city with a local eye. The tour experience is focused on openness, sharing and improvement.

  • A coffee or drink, breakfast for sunrise tours, transportation, photography guidance, smiles and lasting memories. I will also share a personal inspiration list and be available for feedback on your photos after the tour.

  • I focus on small-group photography tour (maximum 5 participants) in order to offer every photographer enough of individual attention and support. I also prefer to keep it small to avoid disturbing local life more than necessary.

  • I offer pick-up service in centrally located hotels. For guests staying outside of my pick-up area, I will kindly request a meeting point in the center.

  • The best camera is the one you already own! Any cameras being DSLR, hybrids, compacts and even smartphones are welcome as the tours are truly about composition and creativity. In terms of lenses, bring a prime lens (35 or 50mm) if you have and a standard zoom lens. You also need one or two fully-charged batteries and enough memory cards to go through the day. Besides camera gear, make sure you wear light, hot weather appropriate clothing and closed shoes for optimal comfort.

  • As a general rule the rain never lasts long in Saigon, then either we will go under cover to continue to photograph or have a drink to review pictures and talk photography.

  • 129 $ for a single person.

79 $ per participant for a group of 2 people.

    59 $ per participant for a group of 3 to 5 people.

  • At the moment I only accept PayPal and cash on the spot.

  • You can expect to discover an authentic side of Ho Chi Minh City while improving your photography. I will send you a form to fill prior to the tour to know more about your photography level, interests and goals in order to customize the tour to fit those. I will also stay in touch after the tour to give you feedback on your photos and provide you with education tools to go further. I see myself as a facilitator who will support your learning process and help you to empower yourself in your journey through the lens.

  • We will briefly discuss the technical side (exposure triangle, ways to focus, how to set your camera…) so that settings don’t get in the way of your photography. I will tell you about my vision of photography and what makes a great street photograph in my opinion. During the tour, I will also explain how to approach people in an appropriate way to capture more intimate and expressive photographs. We will focus on effective ways to tell impactful visual stories and work a scene through different techniques such as creative use of light, art of matching colors, use of perspectives and leading lines, sub-framing, and more.
